So, I guess you could say that nearly the entirety of my day yesterday went toward making sure my kid gets her vegetables, thanks to steaming and whipping them up into palatable purees! She’s only a few months old so she can’t gum up the solids quite yet, but this stuff…..silky spoon fed veggie goodness, baby.
And this book was largely
to blame my inspiration:
Although, before Little C is grown enough to verbally complain about eating her vegetables, Daddy will serve as the guinea pig tester: “What? You loved those chocolate chip cookies? Great! BTW, there’s chickpeas in them, Mwahahaha!”
As for the book, Jessica Seinfeld (yep, you read that right) is the author here and she has some fun and creative ways to sneak those veggies into everyday foods that kids crave, like adding cauliflower to homemade mozzarella sticks, squash into mac’n cheese, or putting spinach into brownies (or “brownie snacks” as I like to call them). All in all, I definitely recommend it if you’re interested in getting creative to sneak more veggies into your family’s meals/snacks!
